Excessive Sweat - Are You Struggling This Summer?

January 4th, 2010 Elroy Fernandes No comments

Are you wondering if your sweating is normal or too much? Since excessive sweat can bring about odor or spoil a well-groomed image, it is not surprising that people become self-conscious when they perspire. But how do you distinguish between normal and too much sweating? When should you see a doctor?

Make The Room Temperature a Bit Cooler

Take note of the environment you are in. You may think you suffer from excessive sweat when it is actually the atmosphere that is making you perspire more than usual. Your body may have adjusted to your warm office, so you tend to ignore it as the cause of your excessive sweat. Listen to comments from visitors when they say your room is warm. Then lower the thermostat to cool your office or put a small fan on your desk. An ideal room temperature is usually 72 degrees Fahrenheit, so try that and see if you still sweat as much.

Chose Better Fabrics

Examine too the clothes you are wearing. Your choice of fabrics is an important factor in making you perspire. Wool, polyester and nylon keep the body heat in and contribute to excessive sweat. Replace them with cotton and linen fabrics instead.

If the room temperature has been adjusted and you have been wearing the recommended clothes but you still have excessive sweat, check your health condition.

Have You Packed On the Pounds?

Being overweight can make you perspire because your body fat is trapping the heat inside you. Get a medical check-up to rule out hormonal imbalance, thyroid problems and other possible causes. Menopause can also cause confusion to your biological system and may trigger excessive sweat. If, after a thorough examination, you are cleared of medical problems, it’s time to consider some other factors which could be the culprit in making you sweat more than normal.

Do You Sweat All Over or is it Localised?

When excessive sweat occurs, observe the areas in your body that are affected. Is it your entire body or do you sweat more in some areas than in others? Armpits and backs are common places for excessive sweat, but what about your legs, the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet? Does your sweat soak through your clothes even without physical activity?

The sweat glands in areas that are prone to excessive sweat may be hyperactive and disrupt your body’s ability to control sweating. If you have followed all the advice given and have been given a clean bill of health but still perspire a lot, then you need to see a doctor. He can order medical tests for you and manage your problem. He is the right person to ask about the cause of your excessive sweat and he can give you treatment options as well. There might be topical medications he will prescribe which are effective and different from what you might have bought at the pharmacy.

If your condition is really bothering you, help is always available. You just need to give enough time, effort and a little bit of courage to go to your doctor and ask for it.

Excessive Sweating Can Limit Your Career Options

January 3rd, 2010 Elroy Fernandes No comments

Have you ever noticed a business associate furtively wipe his hands on his pants after shaking hands with you? Are you constantly self-conscious about your armpit stains or how you smell, even when you’re supposed to be out having a good time with your buddies? Have you ever had to dry your armpits by facing the vent?

If you suffer from excessive sweating you know only too well the many ways it can disrupt your life. Excessive sweating can get in the way of your social life, sex life, relationships with loved ones, and self-confidence. Believe it or not, though, excessive sweating can be most damaging to your career — especially when your profession is one where excessive sweating is considered a liability.

Here are some jobs where excessive sweating is a total no-no.

1.Surgeon. Sweaty palms can be disastrous to a surgeon. No one wants that scalpel slipping through your gross greasy palms. Imagine the damage a cosmetic surgeon with over-slick digits can do! If you’re one, your patient could come out looking like Cher or worse, like the missing link between apes and mankind.

2 Stripper. Your co-workers won’t appreciate the greasy palm prints you leave all over the pole, and even if you’re the best exotic dancer in town, no club manager is going to want to hire you if your excessive sweating makes your feet so slimy you regularly slide off your cute platforms and sail straight into the crowd.

3 Salesman. Selling a used car while you have rivers of sweat pouring down your face says one thing to the customer: “I am ripping you off.” People associate excessive sweating with nervousness, dishonesty, and sheisty business dealings. So if you sweat torrents, prospective customers will most likely take one look at your sweat-drenched face and assume you’re out to steal their hard-earned money.

4 Gymnast. If you’re a gymnast or a rock climber or an acrobat, excessive sweating won’t just end your career; it could end your life! It could send you flying off the bars or tumbling down the side of a mountain. Don’t think chalking up will cut it, either. All you’ll accomplish is leaving a muddy white sludge behind so people can’t point and whisper, “That’s where it happened!”

If you’re a person prone to damp palms, you’re safer skipping these pursuits altogether.

5 Musician. It may not be your fault that your fingers are sliding all over the keys because of your excessive sweating, but your audience doesn’t know that. All they’ll hear is the noise while you try to get a handle on the keys. They might clap politely after your portion is done, but know that they’re most likely clapping out of relief that your performance is over.

6 Business person. Few people feel confident sealing a business deal with someone whose palms are so oily they would rather skip the handshake and go for a high-five. If you must subject someone to your excessively sweaty grip, make sure to at least offer them a paper towel afterwards so they can spare their dress pants the oleaginous smear of your second-hand perspiration.

Even if you’re not pursuing any of these careers, excessive sweating can still get in your way. Even if you just work at an office, chances are no one appreciates your pit stains or having to smell your gamy musk whenever you walk by. People tend to perceive excessive sweating as disgusting, as evidence of poor grooming habits or extreme nervousness—which is interpreted as a sign of a sketchy character.

While it may not be fair, most people—your boss and coworkers not excluded—include these factors into their first impressions of you. As a result, your excessive sweating could keep you from promotions and other important business opportunities. In fact, it might have cost you opportunities already, without you even having realized it.

If you suffer from excessive sweating but you’re not ready to give up on any of the many careers made difficult by your condition, you should do something about it. Start out by knowing the condition in detail. Look it up online. For more specific information, you could go to the library, or you might check out online resources (one good resource, the Stop Sweating and Start Living ebook by Mike Ramsey, is written by a former sufferer of excessive sweating). You could even try calling your doctor. If you’re determined to overcome your problem with excessive sweating, that’s the first step. Good for you. Beating your excessive sweating problem is possible; it just might take a little effort and perseverance on your part.

Iontophoresis

January 2nd, 2010 Elroy Fernandes No comments

Iontophoresis is a painless alternative to botox injection in which a weak electrical current is used to stimulate mineral-carrying ions to pass through the palms or feet. Iontophoresis is the process of using an iontophoresis device to cure sweaty palms and feet. This is a process that is not new to the medical world. You can find medical document referring to these results for over many years now. The iontophoresis device is a machine that sends out an electrical current through a water buffer to the pores of your skin. Iontophoresis devices can be found at medical suppliers around the globe. The problem with iontophoresis for years has been the cost of these machines. You would also find that it could be difficult to get many insurance companies to pay for the machine. These machines are very basic and the costs do not match what they do. Each iontophoresis device sends out a light electrical current to block the pores in the hands or feet. After a week worth of treatments most patients have had their sweating disappear. After this patients just need a maintenance plan to keep the sweating at bay.

Don’t worry, the procedure is completely painless and you barely even feel the current in the water. We’re talking VERY low voltage here. The minerals create a temporary thickness in the sweat pores of the hands and feet that ends the profuse sweating for a matter of weeks. Without continued iontophoresis therapy, the sweating does come back, however, this have been proven as one of the most consistent and predictive hyperhidrosis treatments available. The great thing with iontophoresis is that you can use it basically however you want. You can do one treatment every second or third day and if you are in a hurry you can do up to two treatments per day which would mean you’d get cured of sweating in just 5 days.

Iontophoresis of course. This is a non surgical, non invasive procedure to stop palmar hyperhidrosis and cure sweaty palms which has been tested and proven effective since its debut about 50 years ago, and with no side effects. It is basically a treatment whereby you put your palms in water through which a very mild electrical current passes. It’s completely safe and all you feel is a slight tingling. The electrical current reacts with the minerals in the tap water to block the hand sweating. The process takes about 15 to 20 minutes, to be done daily over a one week period. Thereafter, you only need to maintain the consistent dry palms with a session every 3 weeks.

Iontophoresis is the treatment which helped me get dry palms. Since its debut more than 50 years ago, there is millions of sweaty hands suffers who have benefited from this treatment. The added benefits lie in that it is non surgical and non invasive with no side effects. Hence, for those who are afraid to go under the knife this is a good alternative. The process is also simple. Soak your palms in separate trays of water and connect to the Iontophoresis device for 20 minutes. Repeat daily and you will be your dry palms within one week. Keep to a maintenance mode of this 20 minute session once every three weeks for best continued results.

Do not try other surgical or invasive procedures until you have tried iontophoresis. And whether you purchase your iontophoresis device or make your own, you will never regret this choice. And before you knew it, you would be going about your daily activities with dry palms. So, stop procrastinating and start living again.

Home-made remedies For Hand Sweating

January 1st, 2010 Elroy Fernandes No comments

Do you ever fear shaking somebody’s hand? Do you worry about your hands sweating so profusely that it gets on your clothing? Are you ashamed of the quantity of sweat that your hands produce? If you agree with any of these statements, then you know you are desperate for an answer to your sweaty palms.

Sweaty palms are a condition that a lot of folks have. While everybody gets clammy hands from time to time, folks like you have sweat oozing from their palms. It definitely is embarrassing to live life this way.

If your hands want a solution. You need a way to heal your sweaty palms forever. You can go to the doctor for help but he is is going to recommend surgery. You need a less complicated and less costly treatment.

Luckily, there are options for you. There are some homemade remedies for hand sweating that you can try. First off, you can rub talcum powder onto your hands. This will absorb any sweat on your hands and leave them feeling silky smooth. Rubbing cornstarch into your hands is an alternate way to reduce excess sweat on your hands.

The medical community has some solutions though they don’t address the “why” folks have overactive sweating and just act to stop sweating. I’m going to show you some methods and tell you what I think of them.

It’s the same thing that’s used for hair removing. It works comparatively easy. This shock really damages the sweat glands and they close off for about a week to repair . This is strategy of treatment that will need you to come back week after week. I don’t look at it as a long term answer to this problem.

As a final resort, you will look to surgery, but I believe this is far to expensive, dangerous and actually OTT. For me, it appears to not answer the issue of why the profuse sweating is happening in the 1st place. Sweating is a standard part of somebody, but as an over the top sweater, we need it to be normal.

I decided to work out if I could find an all natural strategy and I did. It appears the food we eat essentially can excite the speed of our body. Therefore you sweat. By getting rid of these foods from my diet, I was in a position to get shot my excessive sweating.

Stop Sweating Now

December 28th, 2009 Elroy Fernandes No comments

I too, used to suffer from profuse sweating, until I discovered what I am about to reveal. My underarm sweating, sweaty palms and night sweats were a particular cause of embarrassment.

As a teenager I hated my life, and I had to disguise my constant sweating by wearing heavy woolen sweaters, multiple layers, and neutral colours that would hide my embarrassing sweaty armpits!Looking back, it must have looked ridiculous wearing a coat or woolen sweater in 90 degree temperatures?

Whether I was meeting up with friends, on a date, or just relaxing at home, my excessive sweating was a constant reminder of the torment I was going through. Admittedly it didn’t have any dangerous impact on my health, and this is one of the main reasons the medical profession doesn’t take it seriously; however it had an enormous negative impact on my social life and almost destroyed me mentally. I’m sure you know what I am talking about?

Looking back at this very unhappy period of my life, here are some of some of the desperate measures I went to help eliminate or disguise my excessive sweating:

” I tried all types of antiperspirant and deodorant and applied it to my body several times a day. Nothing worked, and it often made me sweat even more, especially antiperspirant. I recall going to the local pharmacy to buy a whole selection of antiperspirant and deodorant, after the previous products had failed to do anything to prevent the constant sweating and excessive perspiration. The truth is, there are no real differences in any of these seemingly different products, apart from the brand names and the fact that some contain alcohol and others don’t.

” I tried disguising my underarm sweating under multiple layers of clothing with the hope that my sweat patches wouldn’t appear on the outer layer - This of course became very uncomfortable during summer months and especially whilst abroad on vacation! In my desperation, by the age of 20 I had become a master of disguise, with a life goal of learning how to stop sweating?

” I would sit opposite a window on windy days, or position myself close a fan or air-conditioner in a desperate attempt to keep my armpits dry. I must admit, this did feel comfortable at the time, but it was hardly a solution to something that was having such a negative effect on my confidence.

” I would shower at least 3 or 4 times a day, and would wash my sweaty armpits at every opportunity. ” Can you believe, I even used to dry my underarm sweat patches with hand drying machines in public toilets? Obviously when nobody was around!

” I would need to change my clothes multiple times daily, and went through more shirts and t-shirts than a mid-year clearance sale. Things were desperate and nothing was helping the excessive sweat! My embarrassment was becoming unbearable!

” Even doctors couldn’t help, nor did they have a clue of how debilitating an effect the constant sweating was having on my confidence?

These are just few examples of my desperate attempts at trying to eliminate my excessive sweating. The list is endless, but obviously too embarrassing to reveal in full! I’m sure you understand what I am talking about?

Through years of frustration, I finally decided to do something positive about my problem, and I started to research natural remedies on how to stop sweating.

After endless months of research I discovered something that was about to change my life for good! A real solution based on 100% natural ingredients that helps eliminate excessive sweating, and allows you to stop sweating start living!
